From patient, to survivor, to inspiration.
I am a wife, mother to 2 boys, and a breast cancer survivor. I served as a family ministry specialist to regional churches for a decade before transitioning to her current role as a Beachbody Coach.
Before becoming a coach, I put myself last on the list for and used "busy" as my standard excuse for not taking care of me.
At 41, I was diagnosed with a very early stage of Breast Cancer. No family history.... it was only detected on my routine mamogram.
After the bilateral mastectomy, I felt like an alien in my skin.
We talk about wanting to “age gracefully,” but the truth is that when it comes to getting older, we’re programmed to dread and embrace a slow fade. And I was tempted to accept that slow fade after my breast cancer diagnosis.
Thankfully, I decided to take back control of my health.
That was one of the best decisions of my life. I jumped in my first online fitness challenge and started helping others live a happier, healthier lifestyle too. It was out of my personal experience that I felt called to coaching.
As a coach, I have learned how to live a holistic healthy lifestyle and now helps hundreds of others live healthy, fulfilling lives too.
Our work has earned us the prestigious Elite Team designation 5 years in a row.
We would be honored to work with you on your healthy lifestyle goals too! It can be simple, fun and work with the busiest of schedules. We can do it together! Reach out today and let's talk about where you want to be a year from now!
Developing a heart for others
“𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘻𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘥, 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵?”
Imagine waking up with a tube in your throat and being greeted with those words from your cardiologist…..the one you didn’t have had before the tube had become a necessity.
That is where my story begins. With an undetected heart condition that reared it’s head in the middle of my black belt test. The heart condition that put me in a medically induced coma for 36 hours, lead to a Life Flite Helicopter ride, made my wife think there was a real possibility that she would be a widow and the now constant reminder that your health really matters.
For years, I had been focused on getting healthy enough to perform at the top of my game for that test. That test proved that it was far more than just a really cool belt. My fitness literally saved my life.
Now I bring a passion for helping others. Having spent the majority of my professional career on the road, I have seen far too many people who have given up control of their health to their circumstances. I am on a mission to help change that.
The mission was further clarified earlier this year when I was diagnosed with Macular Degeneration. A condition that leads to blindness and the only way to fight it is eat right, exercise and take your vitamins.
Your helath matters. Not just to you but to your family. Take it seriously.
